(TITC) – In order to promote the role of the youth, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism launched the movement "Tourism Youth - Green Action" for the period 2024 - 2025.
The movement encourages union members in the tourism industry to promote their proactive and responsible role in organizing and participating in environmental protection, cultural activities at tourism destinations.
Each union member perceives themselves as an active propaganda ambassador for green actions and protection of tourism environment.
Activities in the movement include:
Environmental protection activities for green, clean, beautiful, civilized and friendly tourist destinations: raising awareness of environmental protection and sustainable tourism for union members, tourists and the community.
Specifically, collect and classify waste at tourist destinations. Along with that, propagate and mobilize the community to protect the environment at the guide counters, using attractive billboards and illustrations; Calling young people to limit the use of plastic; Giving eco-friendly handbags with the message "Tourism Youth - Green Action" and the Vietnam Tourism logo.
Organize contests, propaganda activities, and promote Green action tourism for young people: raise awareness of young people and community about green, sustainable tourism development; Promoting new destinations to ensure green and sustainable development.
Specifically, propagandize young people to protect the environment at tourist destinations on the website and social network channels with articles or attractive illustrative images/video clips; Organizing photo contest (accompanied by a short article) or video clip on the topic of young people acting green when traveling or introducing Vietnam's green, sustainable tourist destinations on social network channels.
Building green journey for tourism youth: attracting the attention and participation of young people with "green and sustainable" tourism products and tours; Raising awareness of protecting the natural and social environment at tourist destinations through youth green journeys; Building and introduce tours that meet the criteria of "green and sustainable".
In addition, organizing youth green trips associated with sports activities such as short runs and cycling at beautiful tourist destinations; Integrate messages calling for awareness of environmental protection in tourism.
