(TITC) - On 22nd September, at the central stadium of Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province, the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Shan Tuyet Tea Festival “The essence amidst thousands of clouds” 2023 took place.

Giving his opening remarks, Mr. Dang Duy Hien, Chairman of Van Chan District People’s Committee said, the festival is an opportunity to honour those who care for and protect rare ancient tea trees, promote economic value, promote tourism and create the image of Van Chan land and people. The event is even more meaningful when it is held on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Yen Bai (25 September 1958 - 25 September 2023) and the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Van Chan District Party Committee (30 September 1947 - 30 September 2023).

At the Opening Ceremony, delegates, residents and visitors enjoyed a unique art programme with the theme "Essence amidst thousands of clouds" including 3 chapters praising the beauty of nature and people of Van Chan associated with Shan Tuyet tea, the unique identities of the ethnic groups here; The potential strengths of tourism and service development contribute to promoting local socio-economic development.
Chapter 1 - "To the Shan Tuyet region" introduces the Van Chan countryside with its land and people from the early stage, a land that has long been associated with ancient Shan tea.
Chapter 2 - "Converging colours" with songs and scenes expressed through responses and improvisations by artists and public actors, highlighting the cultural beauty of the Mong people Suoi Giang is associated with the Shan Tuyet tea tree.
Chapter 3 - "Essence and integration" highlights the achievements of preserving the Shan tea heritage of the people, bringing Shan tea products to integrate and reach further.

Shan Tuyet Tea Festival takes place from 22nd to 28th September 2023 including various of attractive activities: Organisation of the display and exhibition of paintings and photos of Van Chan land and people, beautiful photos of the western region of Yen Bai Province; Over 100 booths display and introduce Shan Tuyet tea products; OCOP products; key products of localities; commercial products and demonstrations of typical cultural features of the ethnic groups in the area.
In Suoi Giang Commune, from 23rd to 25th September, taking place the Festival honours the Tea tree with activities: Communion from the headquarters of the People's Committee of Suoi Giang Commune to the location of the ancestral tea tree, and a worship ceremony.
At the same date and time, at the Suoi Giang Tea Cultural Space, the Tea Party night takes place to demonstrate how to make tea, enjoy tea and a cultural and artistic exchange programme of the Mong ethnic group; Tea product auction; Organise mass cultural and artistic activities…
