Binh Thuan has a warm climate, with a 192km long coastline - it is one of the 5 provinces with the longest coastline in Vietnam with many beautiful beaches, many nature reserves, and famous cultural relics, such as Ong Mountain, Ta Cu Mountain, Phu Quy Island Marine Reserve, diverse biodiversity Cu Lao Cau. Binh Thuan also has many national cultural festivals such as the Kate Festival of the Cham people, Nghinh Ong Festival of the Chinese community in Phan Thiet, Cau Ngu Festival in Van Thuy Tu Phan Thiet, Dinh Thay Thim Festival in La Gi... Besides, Binh Thuan has rich natural tourism resources associated with the sea, islands, lakes, waterfalls, and forests, along with dozens of historical, cultural and revolutionary relics, traditional crafts the unique and sophisticated culinary arts and a mix of 35 ethnic groups, creating Binh Thuan attractiveness.
In recent years, Binh Thuan has identified itself as a destination that attracts tourists through various types of tourism, such as water sports, luxury resorts, cultural and spiritual festivals, etc. In addition, Binh Thuan tourism has made progress in sea resort tourism, picnics, entertainment, coastal areas trips, and religious tourism through traditional festivals during the summer, holidays, New Year and weekends. Binh Thuan has also promoted agricultural tourism, forest-sea-dune ecology tourism, conference tourism (MICE), community tourism, etc., attracting a lot of provincial tourists, especially, Phu Quy Island is becoming a destination which attracts a large number of tourists.
Recently, Binh Thuan has formed several new tourist products and destinations such as NovaWorld beach and amusement park, Wonderland water park, adventure entertainment area in Centara complex, agricultural tourism, Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Base relic site during the American war... contributing to diversifying tourism products. Moreover, vegetable, flower, ornamental plant, and dragon fruit production areas and farms; fish sauce, seafood processing, handicraft production facilities and factories... are supported to operate, contributing to Binh Thuan tourism development needs.
The system of tourist accommodation facilities in the province continues to develop, with increasingly high quality. The whole province currently has 597 accommodation facilities in operation with a total of 19,096 rooms. Besides, 315 tourist villas and 1,019 tourist apartments; 22 units are operating in the international and domestic travel business. The active tour guide force is 118 people, including 31 international guides, 51 domestic guides and 36 on-site guides.
Attracting tourists
Binh Thuan's tourism products have become increasingly attractive and diverse with a constantly developing system of tourist accommodation facilities, with increasingly high quality, attracting domestic and foreign tourists. In 2023, Binh Thuan welcomed about 8.3 million visitors in general and 220,000 foreign visitors in particular. Many experts believe that after the success of the National Tourism Year - Binh Thuan "Green Convergence" in 2023, tourism in Binh Thuan province will grow in both quality and quantity, heading to one of the most attractive destinations in Vietnam.
However, it is a fact that Binh Thuan tourism has certain backdraws. Therefore, to improve and position the tourism brand, Binh Thuan will continue to organize tourism promotion and advertising activities. Digital transformation in promoting tourist destinations is also focused on, such as building websites and smart tourism information portals. In particular, to further enhance the "diversification of advantageous tourism services of the province", in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to advise on the effective implementation of the Project "Building Binh Thuan into a national center for marine tourism and sports", host national and international sports competitions and organize programs to survey new and attractive tourism products and types. Moreover, the Phan Thiet City tour and Conservation project need to be well implemented and promote effectively the values of folk songs, folk dances and music of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in the period of 2022 - 2030.
At the same time, Binh Thuan focuses on protecting, conserving, and developing nature reserves, mangrove forests, existing forest areas, and marine reserves; greening vacant land areas; creating a green and fresh environment; preserving natural landscapes; developing other areas with potential for ecotourism development in the future; implementing the project to develop sustainable ecotourism with community participation in Hon Cau Marine Reserve.
Along with the province's innovation, Binh Thuan tourism has made impressive developments, affirming its outstanding strength as one of the three main development pillars. In the coming time, Binh Thuan Tourism will always be ready to improve its competitiveness to develop typical tourism products and towards environmental protection to attract tourists.
