A programme of natural disaster movies is being held at the BHD Star Cinema in HCM City to mark the World Environment Day on June 5. Part of the ticket proceeds will be donated to Japanese people hit by an earthquake and tsunami on March 11, a spokesman for the theatre said.
The movies include South Korea's Tidal Wave; The Host, a monster movie that set a Korean box-office record; and Aftershock, a story of a family separated by the Tangshan, China, earthquake in 1976.
Japan Sinks, a nominee for the 2007 Asia-Pacific Screen visual effects award, and the US's 2012 are also on the programme.
The programme will run until Friday.
