Nha Trang: Scuba diving tour on Monkey Island

Diving is a must for sea loving tourists when travelling to the coastal city of Nha Trang, tourists said to each others. Beside Mun Island, a place famous for diving service in Nha Trang, Monkey Island is also ideal for this exciting sports.

Monkey Island is located on Nha Phu Swamp, managed by Long Phu Tourist Joint Stock Company. Its official name is Lao Island, but people often called it Monkey Island because there are more than 1,200 monkeys on it. The tamed monkeys include two kinds of Macaca Rhérus and Macaca Fassicularit. They are very lovely and friendly with tourists. Tourists also can play with them and see their funny shows.

Monkey Island has a sea area with blue water and beautiful coral reefs and a plenty of fish. Diving has been put into service for five years, aiming to showing tourists beauty of the ocean here.

In case you can’t dive, you will be taught in five minutes by a professional instructor. Then, you will wear a diving suit, a dive-mask and  swimfins and carry compressed air and a 7-8kg leaden string with you. A dive last 30 minutes. The instructor will dive beside you all the time to guide you to contemplate colourful coral reefs or play with fish in the ocean.

At Mun Island, you must dive at the depth of 20 metres, but at Monkey Island, the sea water is only 3 - 5 metres deep. So, it’s easier to dive at Monkey Island.

Diving service has attracted thousands of tourists to join during the past five years. A 30-minute dive costs VND150,000. Take a dive to enjoy the full beauty of Monkey Island.
