Chop Chai Mountain

Update: 08/06/2010
Located to the west of the National Highway 1A, four kilometres to the North of Tuy Hoa town centre (belonging to Binh Kien commune). Chop Chai also has another name of Nuu Son (Handle Mountain). Chop Chai mountain is 391 metres high, but it looks so imposing. The people in Tuy Hoa consider Chop Chai mountain and Da Bia Mountain a pair of weather stations to give signals of sunshine and rain.

“Chop Chai’s on hat Clouds on Da Bia Frogs are on chat Rain falls heavily here”.

Chop Chai has some legendary tracks such as Trai Thuy whose first name was Hang Doi (The Bat Cave). This cave is about 5 metres wide, with a remote depth. In the cave there are many smooth rocks.

There are pagodas around its North, West, South and East: The pagodas of Hoa Son, Minh Son, Khanh Son, Bao Lam were built along the sides of the mountain, looking downwards there is “Lien Tri Luc Nguyet” (The Moon Bathing in Lotus Pond) , about 1,2 hectares wide.  Nuu Son is situated in an area of wonderful nature linkting with the values of human literature which have gone into the local people’s memory, this will be an ideal cultural sightseeing tourist place.
