Nearly 1,000 people join walk in response to emission reduction

Nearly 1,000 people joined a walk at the Cuc Phuong National Park on the morning of September 12, to respond to the programme entitled “Reducing emissions, protecting the environment”.

The walk, which is part of the cooperation programme to contribute to realising Vietnam’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050, is jointly held by the Cuc Phuong National Park, the Aid for social protection programme Foundation Vietnam (AFV), the People’s Committee of Nho Quan District (Ninh Binh Province), and the ActionAid International in Vietnam (AAV).

The walk, with a distance of 3.3km, attracted the participation of nearly 1,000 delegates from 10 provinces and cities nationwide.

Speaking at the programme, the Board Chair of AFV Ta Viet Anh said, that the fund has been coordinating with central and local partners, to implement development support programmes in 10 provinces and cities, regarding sustainable agriculture, education, women’s rights, natural disasters and climate change, especially projects on minimising the adverse impacts of climate change.

The walking activity is also part of the “Go Green Vietnam” programme, in response to the “Earth Overshoot Day” initiative.
