Vietnam-New Zealand: Strategic cooperation on clean technology, environment and disaster risk management

At the invitation of Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand, Prime Minister of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam – Nguyen Tan Dung has his official visit to New Zealand from March 19 to 20 March 2015.

After the official welcoming, PM Nguyen Tan Dung held talks with PM John Key with the participation of minister and senior officials of the two countries.

After the talks, the two sides agreed a joint statement to reaffirm the importance of the five strategic areas of cooperation identified in the Action Programme 2013-2016, including agriculture and agricultural trade, education, aviation, clean technology, management environment, disaster risk management and tourism.

The two sides agreed to continue close consultations and cooperation on the important international issues such as the multilateral trade initiatives, peace and global security through cooperation peacekeeping, and coping with climate change and other environmental issues.
