Smart tourism in Hoi An

Representatives of Australian Trade and Investment Commission (on behalf of Australian Government), Telstra Corporation, Viettel Quang Nam Company (on behalf of Viettel Group) and leaders of Hoi An city have signed a cooperation agreement to pilot smart tourism in Hoi An. The pilot takes place from now until February, 2018; then will be summarized and evaluated.

Accordingly, technical equipment will be installed for travel behavior collection such as entrances of tourists, stopping time at a destination… The information will be used to better visitor experiences by upgrading the walkways around the downtown area, providing facilities and accessing to tourists’ demographic profiles. The information is also shared to local businesses to adjust services based on demography and visitor flows to Hoi An.
