2nd Green Innovation Award launches

Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has officially announced the organization of the second "Green Innovation Award". The award was co-organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Departments of Natural Resources and Environment, Provincial Youth Union of provinces and centrally-run cities to encourage young people look to seek, introduce, and popularise outstanding initiatives and models protection of natural resources and environment and response to climate change.

The awards, designed for three groups — primary and secondary students; high school students; and college, university students and those aged between 19 and 30 years.

The entries will focus on (1) natural resources protection, environment and sustainable development; (2) models focusing on the following main contents: energy saving; environmentally friendly products; biodiversity conservation; processing and treating garbage, wastewater and gases; solutions for policy, education of natural resources and environment; applying information technology in the management of the protection of natural resources and environment; youth start-ups associated with rational use of natural resources, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change.

Contest entries must creative and applicable. The entries must have a model and follow the ideas of contestants, low-cost, technically sophisticated, easy-to-navigate, and highly practical applications. The models are made from materials available in the country, encourage the use of waste from domestic activities to make widgets, useful models, multi-purpose tools, machine tools, robots, automation equipment, intelligent models, creative ideas in the above areas.

The entries should be enclosed explanations, which clearly outlines the idea of creativity, usage, operation, novelty, creativity, applicability and economic efficiency. They should be ideas, innovations, models which have not won at any contest. Participating entries must not infringe upon copyright (if the prize is found to be in violation of copyright, the Committee will withdraw the prize).

The submissions are written full names of authors, the date of birth of the contestants; address, contact telephone number, e-mail address and copy of birth certificate. Photos and movies will be posted by the Organizing Committee on the fanpage and portal of the Media Center for Environmental Resources and Environment. The attached video must be uploaded on YouTube and emailed to the following address: giaithuongsangtaoxanh@gmail.com.

Deadline for the semi-final and the final is October to November 2018. The award ceremony will be in December, 2018.
