Awarding 29 excellent press articles on natural resources and environment

Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) awarded 29 excellent press articles on natural resources and environment (NRE)for 45 authors and groups of author at the 4thPress Awards on Natural Resources and Environment.

The NRE Press Award has gone through four seasons and attracting more and more participation of media agencies, reporters and editors nationwide presented by increasing quality and quantity of registration works of each period.

This year, the organizer received 500 works of various and plentiful expression of nearly 350 authors and groups of author from 78 press agencies across the country.

The program honors 29 of the best pressworks of 45 authors and groups of author. Especially, 5 works won the prize A, including:“Sustainable development in the Mekong Delta - needsaction and breakthrough mindset" by Vinh Long newspaper; “Salty and sweet" by Vietnam Television, "The sea is still” by Ha Tinh TV, "Footprints of forest keepers" by Quang Nam Newspaper, "Stormy drawingof Can Gio sea" byThanh Nien NewsUnion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Tran Hong Ha delivered his thanksto effective support from the press, enthusiasm of the reporters and editors for the accompanyin 16-year of development of NRE sector.

 

Authors won prize A

With the accompany of the press, press works have promptly communicated policies and strategies of the National Party and State to people and businesses,successfullyperformingthe role of connection and conveying thoughts and aspirations of the people to the sector.

Compared to the previous awards, the Press Award this year has many important new points. It focuses on six specific themes in the state management of MONRE.

The six main themes are: Identifyand reflectthe shortcomings and inadequacies in promulgation and implementation of policies and laws; identify negative ones, hot spots and violations to theLaw on NRE; intensify administrative reform NRE sector; apply solutions and technologies to strengthen the capacity of State management to serve the interests of the community and enterprises; change the development model and propose measures to stabilize livelihood in order to adapt to climate change and prevent and mitigate impacts of natural disasters damages and extreme weather phenomena; honor advanced models, new models, initiatives on technical improvement and application of new technologies on NRE; manage and rationally use land and water resources, bio-diversity, mineral resources and other natural resources in the direction of sustainable development; reflect the wasteful use of resources; enhance environmental protection solutions in industrial parks, industrial clusters, craft villages; improveurban and rural environmentwith the direction of not exchanging environment with economic benefit; reflect activities of controlling high risks of environmental pollutionfacilities and handle with environmental pollution in rural areas; develop models of socialization in environmental pollution treatment.
