In addition to taking tours of Vung Tau, Nha Trang, or Binh Thuan, tourists should also visit Quy Nhon, an attractive destination for those who love sea and peacefulness. Located in the southeast of Binh Dinh Province, Quy Nhon possesses an unspoiled beauty which could make anyone fall in love with the city the very first time they visit here.

The tourists could start their journey by visiting the Queen beach under the Thi Nhan hill. The beach, also called bai trung (egg site) is a part of Ghenh Rang tourism site which is 2-3 km far from the centre of Quy Nhon city.

The Queen beach is comprised of scores of big and small smooth stones with different sizes. Above the beach is the Thi Nhan hill at which the tomb of Han Mac Tu, a famous Vietnamese poet, is located. Annually, a poetry day takes place here on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month to commemorate the poets Han Mac Tu and Yen Lan and honor poetry talents.

Under the hill is the Quy Hoa leper camp where hundreds of lepers have been living for years. Their houses were built over 80 years ago. Each has distinctive features, making the whole camp become one of the most picturesque hospitals in the world.

There is a statue garden in the leper camp. It was set up in 1996, by Dr. Tran Huu Ngoan, who was the hospital’s director from 1954-1994. There are 40 white rock statues and busts of the world’s most famous physicians which are arranged in rows along a shady road. Each statue has details about the doctor: their dates of birth and death, and their personal contributions to medicine.

Coming to Quy Nhon, tourists should visit the 7-km Thi Nai Bridge, Vietnam’s longest cross-sea bridge, connecting the Phuong Mai peninsula and Quy Nhon city. If they want to see the whole city from afar, tourists are able to travel along the Quy Nhon – Song Cau route by night and enjoy a panorama of the city.

The city is fairly quiet at night. Walking around some small streets in the city to enjoy fresh air is also an interesting experience. In addition, tourists could choose to sit in a café near the beach to enjoy the sea by night.

The beach at night is also an attractive destination for different games, such as camp-fire, tug-of-war, or even night parties.

Visiting Quy Nhon, tourists need to come to Cu Lao Xanh which is also called Van Phi Island located near Xuan Dai bay in Nhon Chau communes. From the Ham Tu port, it takes about two hours to travel by boat to Cu Lao Xanh.

Quy Nhon is now not only a modern city but a peaceful one with picturesque features which are always attractive to any visitors.
