Da Nang develops new product chains to offer visitors

(TITC) - Da Nang is planning many projects to stimulate the tourism development, in which developing key service industries, protecting tourism environment and continuing to invest for tourism industry to become a city’s spearhead economic sector, these are the basic goals of Da Nang after repelling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Exploiting strength conditions 

Da Nang Department of Tourism informed that, with the goal of restoring tourism activities after the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Da Nang has built planning for tourism development with a focus along the Son Tra - Ngu Hanh Son coast, along Da Nang Bay, the western mountain area and Son Tra Peninsula to exploit effectively natural water surface resources, cultural and historical relics, natural landscapes and biodiversity. 

Accordingly, in the near future, the city will become a special tourist destination with more 6 tourism types including the urban tourism in the city center; community ecotourism in the western mountains and Son Tra Peninsula; cruise ship tourism at Tien Sa Port; culture and sport activities around the sport and cultural centers and special national relic site of Marble Mountains; East Coast tourism; and Da Nang bayside tourism. In addition to beach resort tourism, facilities for MICE tourism are available resources; the attractive river cruise routes associated with visiting strange rural communities, and historical, cultural and spiritual sites will be also designed. Many products and services for developing the night economy have also been planned to be ready in operation after the control of pandemic.

In the investment field of tourism development in the period of 2021-2025, Da Nang City has major projects including the pier in the Asia Park project area of ​​Sungroup at location Y8 - Asia Park in Hai Chau District, piers and destinations on inland waterway tourism in Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Bay. In particular, many large tourism projects are concentrated in the area of ​​Lien Chieu District, such as Mikazuki Xuan Thieu Tourist Site, Tokyo Night Street, Nam O Ecotourism Site; number of resorts and eco-tourism projects in the Son Tra Peninsula.

Taking advantage of smart tourism

Prioritizing to attract tourists with high affordability and from the domestic market will be the mainstay in the near future. The Da Nang Department of Tourism will focus on attracting domestic tourists from the big cities and provinces such as Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, etc. And then as soon as the pandemic is under control, with a high level of safety in the community, Da Nang will continue to reopen for the key international tourist markets.

However, now facing the pandemic context, tourism industry must have the plan to maintain and promote the market through the application of technology. Catching the development trend, Da Nang tourism industry is also accelerating the application of technology in market promotion such as online tourism survey research for tourists; organization of virtual fairs and virtual tours, livestream programs to introduce tourism products, etc.  

Da Nang has been focused the applications of 4.0 technologies in tourism communication activities. Since 2016, the city has built and implemented a tourism brand identity with Danang FantastiCity; Danang Tourism Portal (danangfantasticity.com) in 5 languages; communication activities on social networking sites Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Twitter; chatbot to support visitors; app Danang FantastiCity. Therefore Da Nang has increased the interaction with visitors and promoted tourism widely.
