The southern central province of Binh Thuan welcomed more than 120 tourists on October 24, following a document issued by the provincial People’s Committee on the organisation of tourism activities in the in the “new normal” period.
Binh Thuan welcomes the return of tourists in the “new normal” period
The tourists, coming from Ho Chi Minh City, are the first visitors to Binh Thuan after more than five months of travel suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They were greeted with gifts and flowers from the provincial authorities and leaders of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism along with the provincial Tourism Association.
While welcoming the tourists to the province, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh expressed his thanks to the tourists for choosing Binh Thuan as their first travel destination in the "new normal" period.
He said that Binh Thuan is rolling out measures for safely and flexibly adapting to as well as effectively controlling COVID-19, depending on the pandemic levels of different zones in the province, in a bid to gradually resume activities in all fields, including tourism.
He also stressed that that the resumption of tourism activities is made in accordance with anti-pandemic rules.
According to the assessment of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, three accommodation facilities are now eligible to welcome tourists, including Anantara Mui Ne Resort, Centara Mirage Resort Mui Ne, and Padanus Resort.
The Department’s Director Bui The Nhan said that Binh Thuan is working on a plan to resume tourism and promote the province as a safe destination for visitors. The department has also actively applied digital technology in advertising local tourist destinations through the use of QR codes, media channels, and social networks, while building online tours for travellers.
