(TITC) - On November 11, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism had a meeting with Mr. Suk Jin Young, Director of Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam on pilot plan to reopen for international tourists to Vietnam.
Mr. Suk Jin Young said that Korean people and businesses are very interested in the information that Vietnam has a pilot plan to reopen for international tourists and expect to learn more about Provisional Guideline 4122/HD-BVHTTDL of Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Accordingly, Korean side paid attention in information about international tourism businesses participating in the pilot plan, preparation activities to welcome international guests in 5 selected localities (especially Da Nang and Quang Nam, the two most popular destinations for Korean tourists), the vaccination rate in 5 localities, the recognition of vaccines passports, and the combination of different types of guests on the same flight.
Mr. Ha Van Sieu informed that, according to regulations, international tourism businesses participating in the pilot program must have international travel license, be operating in Vietnam, meet the requirements specified in Section 9, Guideline 4122, approved by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and localities. List of these tourism businesses will be officially announced by localities.
Currently, five localities chosen in pilot plan have also implemented detailed plan according to Guideline 4122, Covid-19 vaccination roll out and ready to welcome international tourists. It is expected that Vietjet Air will have the first international flight on November 20, bringing 250 Korean guests to Phu Quoc Island, in Kien Giang Province.
Vietnam temporarily recognized "vaccine passports" of 72 countries and territories, including South Korea, Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu also wished the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam transfer information to Korean tourists, contributing to promote visitor exchange in the near future.
