A wide variety of unique cultural activities are due to be held between April 16 and April 19 at the National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism on the outskirts of Hanoi in order to celebrate the Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day on April 19.
The event will see a forum held on ethnic culture along with a photo exhibition aimed at introducing a range of unique different cultures among various ethnic groups across the country.
Major festivals and customs of ethnic groups will be re-enacted, including the Le cap sac (maturity ritual) of the Dao ethnic people, the new rice ritual of the Jrai ethnic group, the Central Highlands region’s gong performance, and the Chol Chnam Thmay festival of the Khmer community.
Art performances highlighting the various cultures of Vietnamese ethnic groups will also take place during the four-day event.
Celebrated on April 19 annually Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day aims to honour cultural values of ethnic groups and Vietnamese cultural diversity.
