“Rhythm of the countryside” - an attractive new puppetry show for visitors

(TITC) - Going with the flow of the tourism reopening from 15th March 2022, on 2nd April, the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre launched a puppetry show to serve domestic and international audiences called "Rhythm of the countryside".

"Rhythm of the countryside" show is a harmonious combination of terrestrial puppetry and water puppetry, between traditional music and dance, combined with contemporary and poetic features, introducing specific cultural features of ethnic groups and regions of the beautiful country of Vietnam.

Audiences can experience cultural tourism by art performances from traditional cultural festivals such as "Festival Drum", "Van Singing", "Hau Dong Ceremony"; popular folk games with high community character, imbued with Vietnamese village culture such as "Swing", "Chicken fighting", "Dragon dance". Then satisfied with the typical image associated with the gentle and graceful beauty of Vietnamese women; Full of surprises with the shimmering fanciful performance of "Dance of hats", in which the flat palm hats with fringe are shown from land to water.

With music, choreography and unique skills of puppetry art, the farm activities of the farmers after days of hard work are recreated emergently, with interesting changes in the repertoire “Day of the season”, “Hunting Fox catching duck”, a series of performances entitled "Rhythm of the countryside" depicts delicately, elaborately and interestingly the art of traditional puppetry interwoven with the contemporary, full of novelty and traditional character. With an open stage space, queer puppets, modern sound and light, and magical shimmering colours that are unique to puppetry art, still imbued with national identity, giving the audiences a wonderful unique art tourism space of Vietnam.

The "Rhythm of the countryside" puppetry show exclusively for visitors is highly appreciated by tour operators. According to Ms. Thanh Ha - Director of Easy Way Travel, the performance left a great impression with the smooth coordination of sound, light, ground puppetry, water puppetry... Especially the combination of terrestrial puppetry, water puppetry through the performances imbued with traditional cultural beauty,, conveying the new and modern but still retaining the folk features.

Additionally, Ms. Ha also said that it is necessary to increase the performance of puppets, and briefly introduce the content to make it easier for the audience to understand. She believes that the "Rhythm of the countryside" puppet show will receive good response and love from international visitors.

The show takes place at the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre (361 Truong Chinh Street, Thanh Xuan District, Ha Noi).
