The first Border Hoa Sim (Rose myrtle) Festival will be held in Hai Son commune, Mong Cai city, in the northern province of Quang Ninh from May 14-15.

The event is part of activities responding to the Visit Vietnam Year, promoting Mong Cai’s tourism and marking the 132nd birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.
The festival aims to create a new tourism product in association with the development of community-based tourism in Hai Son commune, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minority groups in Mong Cai city.
The activities within the festival will be held in several tourist areas of Hai Son commune such as the communal cultural and sports centre, Po Hen martyrs’ Monument, Border marker 1347, Ho Dang hamlet, Po Hen village, Than Phu Xa village, rose myrtle hill and Panai mountain peak.
The festival will also feature various attractive activities including the Po Hen rural market, sports exchanges and folk games.
