In response to World Oceans Day 2022 with the theme “Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean”, UNDP launched the Tiktok Challenge - Garbage Picking Dance.
This program creates a clear message to young people (the main user of the social network Tiktok) about your choice to protect the environment with easy actions such as limiting the use of plastic items, limiting littering or doing the harder thing is to create an environment with a lot of plastic waste, become a less civilized person? This aims to encourage young people to respond and take action to recycle, reuse and reduce single-use plastic waste; act for the environment, for the Earth and for future generations.
Joining the challenge is very simple. Participants only need to create a short video clip with the content of simple dance moves (Ocean Dance) based on the challenge's theme song (Blue Ocean song), not encouraging composing or adding other contents. Participants will post this short clip on their Tiktok account with the campaign hashtags: #vudieudaiduongxanh #nonbienchungtaydonngayracnhua #undp #undpvietnamclimate #beatplasticpollution.
Participants can view a sample clip of the Ocean Dance at Tiktok page: UNDPVietnamClimate or on the campaign's official fanpage: Ocean or Plastic?
The campaign includes two categories: dance challenge, the dance of the Ocean Dance and the hashtag challenge #VuDieuDaiDuongXanh from June 8, 2022 to July 8, 2022.
Is this an event in phase 2 - Easy or Hard? (Are you ready for change?) of the Campaign “Non, joining hands - Clean up plastic waste now” jointly implemented by UNDP and VASI, with the support of the Government of Norway.
