The program will start in Ha Tinh province in August 2022, followed by Ho Chi Minh City in October 2022, then Kien Giang (December 2022).

The main activities of the Program include cleaning up the waste at the beaches of the provinces and handing it over to the local authorities for management. Organize and install public trash cans at beaches to encourage tourists to put their trash in the right places.

The program will have the participation of union members, youth, university students, fishermen, navy and border guards.

The main goal of the program is to collect and clean up marine litter, find suitable waste treatment options and organize the installation of more public trash cans at beaches to encourage tourists. Dispose of garbage in the right place in the locality. In addition, the program's goal is also towards a profound humanity such as raising the community's awareness of the waste problem, calling on everyone to join hands to protect the marine environment, create a green lifestyle to limit climate change.

This cleaning activity is to implement Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Party Central Committee on the strategy of sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, vision to 2045; responding to the Government's national action plan on ocean plastic waste management to 2030 and the Prime Minister's call to prevent the proliferation of waste - a burning problem globally, today causing serious consequences for the environment, especially the marine environment.
