Vietfood & Beverage – Propack has attracted 350 exhibitors from 18 countries and territories.
Many countries will also set up international pavilions, including Viet Nam, India, Poland, South Korea, Greece, Russia, Japan, Indonesia, and Singapore.
Most food processing businesses in the city have fully resumed operations post-COVID, Truong Tien Dung, deputy chairman of the HCM City Food and Foodstuff Association, said at a press briefing on Monday.
The city People’s Committee and Department of Industry and Trade have stepped up trade and investment promotion efforts to develop the food and foodstuffs industry, he said.
“The expo brings good opportunities for domestic businesses to meet potential partners, set up joint ventures with foreign partners and access state-of-the-art technologies in the global food and beverages industry.
“It also provides foreign businesses with a platform to … boost cooperation and investment in the growing food and beverages industry.”
The event, organised by Vinexad JSC, the Viet Nam Association of Liquor, Beer and Beverage, and the HCM City Food and Foodstuff Association, returns after an absence of two years due to the pandemic.
It is expected to attract 10,000 visitors.
