A plan to preserve 92 unique architectural works in the city, including 30 works managed by the municipal administration, 50 State-managed architectures, and 12 built before 1954, has been announced by Hanoi City Department of Construction, Planning and Architecture.

Under the plan, relevant agencies will be responsible for planning conservation and embellishment of architectural works; and building projects for managing, evaluating and verifying the quality of those to submit to the municipal People's Committee.
The municipal administration will continue to guide the districts to maintain, renovate and repair a number of old architectural works built before 1954 at 72 Ly Thuong Kiet street, 28A Dien Bien Phu street, 51 Tran Hung Dao street, 46 Hang Bai street, 49 Tran Hung Dao street, 2-4 Le Phung Hieu street.
Hanoi will also consider the renovation and embellishment of villas at 59 Hai Ba Trung street, 46 Phan Boi Chau street, 51 Hang Chuoi street, 12 Le Quy Don street, 22 Tang Bat Ho street, 8 Nguyen Bieu street, 12 Cao Ba Quat street, 46 Tran Hung Dao street, 20 Hai Ba Trung street, 68 Tho Nhuom street.
According to the list of old villas built before 1954 issued by the City People's Committee in June, Hanoi has more than 1,200 old villas, divided into 3 groups: Group 1 has 222 villas; group 2 has 356 villas and group 3 has 638 villas./.
