Ho Chi Minh City has announced a platform for sharing data on natural resources and the environment in a move to boost the southern economic hub’s digital transformation process.

Available on the web at https://geoportal-stnmt.tphcm.gov.vn, the portal is designed to store, exchange and share information and data on natural resources and the environment between databases in Ho Chi Minh City.
The portal provides nearly 450 datasets on geographical spaces in international open standards and in line with state regulations.
Through the platform, organisations and individuals can utilise the data to create applications that serve public interests on various platforms and devices, rather than having to build data from scratch.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Toan Thang said the use of the data will help enhance the added value of data and contribute to the city’s socio-economic development.
