ITE HCMC 2022: an important event to restore international tourism

On August 22, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired an online meeting with the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City on the preparation for the 16th ITE HCMC 2022 and WTA Asia & Ocean Gala Ceremony in Vietnam.

The 16th ITE HCMC 2022 will last from 8th – 10th September 2022. This is one of the important solutions to recover and develop tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized.

He required that the expo programs must clearly show the products of Vietnam tourism in the coming period and specific solutions for tourism to recover and develop greenly and sustainably.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of HCMC's Department of Tourism informed that up to now, the expo recorded the registration of 260 booths, in which including 50 international booths. The expo also received the registration of 41 provinces/cities, 4 international delegates, 160 international buyers from 18 countries and territories; received the attention and support of more than 50 domestic media partners and 20 international press units from 10 countries.

According to plan, series of events will be organized including Vietnam MICE Tourism Forum, Vietnam Night - Gala Dinner named "The Essence of Vietnamese Rice", World Travel Award - Asian and Oceania Gala Ceremony 2022, Dialogue Program with Editors-in-Chief, seminars/ specialized conferences on the sidelines, meetings of member cities of TPO...

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), said that VNAT will invite representatives of national tourism agencies of some countries such as Korea, Japan, Thailand, Russia, Malaysia, Singapore, World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Pacific  Asia Travel Association (PATA), a number of international buyers as well as representatives of some major international press.

Relating to WTA, Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet proposed VNAT and the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City to host, welcome delegates, organize events efficiency on destination communication in Vietnam.

Concluding the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung asked the organization board to actively prepare and organize the expo successfully.
