Hoi An city of Quang Nam province did a promotion of culture and tourism in Kanagawa (Japan) on the occasion of the Vietnam festival in Yokohama city of Kanagawa Prefecture from September 9 to 11.

Several Hoi An traditional handicrafts were displayed and introduced to the locals of Kanagawa, including lanterns, Thanh Ha pottery. At the same time, the information of Hoi An tourism was also provided at the event.
At the seminar on tourism promotion held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Kanagawa Prefecture, leaders of Hoi An city talked about the long-standing friendship between Hoi An and Japanese localities, the beauty of Hoi An and its development orientation towards green and sustainable tourism.
Besides, Hoi An leaders had some working sessions with leaders of Kanagawa and Japanese organisations and individuals in order to introduce images of Hoi An and to seek opportunities for cooperation with them.
The Vietnam festival is an annual event in Kanagawa, where a large number of the Vietnamese are living. It contributes to the steadfast relationship and the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
The event was a preparation for the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations.
