The Press Department under the Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with Google Company, organised a training programme on the digital transformation of journalism in Hanoi on September 21.
An overview of the training course.
The event attracted the participation of representatives of the leaders of the Press Department under the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Department of Press and Publication under the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, representatives of Google in Vietnam, and several press agencies throughout Hanoi.
To contribute to promoting the digital transformation of press agencies in Vietnam, the Press Department has cooperated with Google to implement the “Google News Initiative” (GNI) programme.
Since its launch, GNI has supported more than 6,000 press agencies in 118 countries globally, focusing on four main activities to improve the quality of journalistic operations and business models, in addition to supporting newsrooms through technological innovation and engaging the global journalism community.
The training programme consists of three overview training courses, with the participation of more than 200 press agencies. Following the overview courses, there will be two intensive training courses in October and November 2022, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
