The renovation and re-embellishment include categories such as repairing and restoring the 3 tunnel doors to their original state with reinforced concrete; restoring Hoang Cam smokeless stove and the two guard tunnels No. 1 and No. 3. Also, a new memorial house will also be built with memorial stone steles, rest huts, and leading paths to the tunnels... The total funding for the restoration and renovation works is up to 6 billion VND.
The tunnels of Tri Thien Hue Party Committee were built in August 1967, when the resistance war against the U.S. for national salvation entered a fierce stage. In 1996, this relic was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) as a National Historic Site.
Following the renovation, the site will become not only a tourist attraction but also a meaningful education center for future generations to learn about the revolutionary spirit of their forefathers.
