"The numbers that show about the rate of investment attraction from Korea to Vietnam through the reports of the Vietnamese ministries, or the achievements in the field of culture, sports and tourism cooperation have proven the Vietnam - Korea relationship reached new heights" - emphasized the Minister.

On the basis of the cooperation between the two ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and Korea, the two Ministers reviewed and identified one of the focuses that need to be organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of relations is to unify the organisation of Tourism - Culture Week in each country in order to popularise and promote the achievements of Vietnam to Korea as well as Korea to Vietnam.

Regarding the Vietnam Tourism - Culture Festival in Korea, the Minister said that right from the opening, the event attracted a large number of attendees, leaving in the hearts of Korean people beautiful impressions of the unique and diverse culture of the Vietnamese people.

Vietnam cannot stay out of the digital economy

Minister Nguyen Van Hung also informed about the socio-economic situation of Vietnam in the recent period. After achieving great achievements in pandemic prevention and control thanks to the correct and timely decisions of the Party and State when shifting to a safe and effective adaptation to COVID-19, Vietnam was one of the first countries to allow reopening.

Since January 2022, the Vietnamese Government has allowed large enterprises and factories to re-operate so as not to disrupt the supply chain of goods. On 15th March 2022, the Government officially reopened the country completely under new normal conditions. This is also the premise for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to successfully organise the 31st Southeast Asian Games, thereby leaving many impressions in the hearts of international friends about a safe, friendly and peaceful Vietnam.

According to the Minister, although the current international situation is facing many unpredictable changes, affecting many economies, Vietnam is still maintaining stability. According to the assessment of international organisations, in 2022, Vietnam will be one of the countries with the highest GDP growth rate.

Large culture and sport events of regional and national level are continuously held, creating imprints to support tourism development. According to statistics, in the first 9 months of 2022, the number of domestic visitors reached 86.8 million arrivals, international visitors were over 1.8 million arrivals, of which, the number of Korean visitors were 489.4 thousand arrivals.

In the context of the digital economy, Vietnam is not an exception to that rule. Through the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Vietnam has also seen more clearly the importance of digitization of the tourism industry to promote Vietnamese tourism to the world.

The Minister also shared that the MOCST is currently making an in-depth assessment of tourism and is submitting to the Government for permission to organise a conference to promote international tourism. On this occasion, the Minister also cordially invited Tourism Ambassador Lee Chang Kun to participate the conference to make positive contributions for the development of Vietnam tourism.
