Vietnam Tourism Roadshow to spread image of Vietnam - a attractive, safe, friendly, hospitable country

(TITC) - On 17th October, in the Republic of Korea (RoK), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam coordinated with the Embassy of Vietnam in Korea to organise the Vietnam Tourism Roadshow to promote tourism. This is an event in the framework of the Vietnam Tourism - Culture Festival 2022 in RoK.

The tourism cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Korea is strong and solid

Giving a remark to start the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, Vietnam and Korea have developed a strong and friendly strategic relationship. Countless cooperation and tourism promotion activities within bilateral and multilateral frameworks have been implemented and organised successfully with the participation of agencies, associations and tourism businesses of the two countries.

Vietnam has currently become a popular destination among Korean tourists and Korea is one of the favourite tourist destinations of Vietnamese people. Additionally, Korea is the second largest source market of Vietnam with 4.3 million visitor arrivals in 2019. In the 2016-2019 period, there was an increase of 2.1 times the number of Vietnamese people visiting Korea, from 251,000 to 523,000 visitor arrivals. In the first 9 months of 2022, Vietnam welcomed nearly 500,000 Korean visitor arrivals, on the other hand, 100,000 Vietnamese people came to Korea for travel.

Recently, the Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the two countries have signed agreements and memorandums of understanding on tourism cooperation as well as coordinated organising tourism promotion activities in Vietnam and Korea, such as "Vietnam - Korea Culture and Food Festival", "Korean Days in Vietnam", "Vietnam Culture - Tourism Week in Korea".

MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung affirmed further, all of the factors above plus the attention from the Governments and tourism agencies of the two countries, have become an intensive basis and a favourable premise for Vietnam and Korea to strengthen tourism cooperation, especially promoting the recovery of bilateral tourism post Covid-19 pandemic.

According to MOCST’s Minister Nguyen Van Hung, Vietnam is proud of diverse and unique natural tourism, cultural resources, long-standing cultural traditions; a country "Safe - Friendly - Peaceful - Hospitable - Integration and development". As a beloved country, Vietnam has been honoured to be chosen as Asia’s Leading Destination for 2 years straight; Asia’s Cultural Destination; Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination and many prestigious awards at the WTA. With the natural and cultural heritage sites recognised by UNESCO, including Ha Long Bay, Hue Imperial Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town along with unique culinary culture, Vietnam has been, is and will be a popular destination to tourists from all over the world.

Lately, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung expressed his appreciation towards the coordination of relevant agencies on the Korean side and hopes that the Vietnam Tourism Roadshow will be an event to introduce rich and attractive tourism products and destinations of Vietnam, draw more attentions from Korean people and businesses, at the same time, creating an opportunity for tourism businesses of the two sides to meet, exchange and cooperate.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the RoK spoke, receiving great attention from Governments and efforts of people of both countries, people can travel in the most favourable condition, promoting people-to-people exchanges and tourism between the two countries.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Tung believes the Vietnam Tourism Roadshow will be a big opportunity for tourist businesses and people of Korea to collect information about destinations and tourist products of Vietnam. There should be more Korean tourists coming to Vietnam for holidays.

Mr. Lee Chang Kun, Vietnam Tourism Ambassador in Korea emphasised that Vietnam owns several tourist destinations, resorts, ecological nature reserves, along with long-standing cultural and historical relics, have become attractive points for Korean tourists. Receiving great attentions from the Government of businesses, recently, the tourism industry of Vietnam has developed stronger and better.

At the event, Vietnam tourism video "Live Fully in Vietnam" was shown to introduce to Korean businesses and guests the beautiful and attractive images of Vietnam. The representative of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) gave an overview of Vietnam tourism; Vietnam's reputed corporations and enterprises such as Vietnam Airlines, Sun Group, Saigontourist Group, Vietravel... also introduced to Korean delegates and businesses new and attractive tourism products to meet the needs of Korean tourists.
