Two architectural works in HCMC recognized special national relics

The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has just announced a list of 185 works and locations that have been recognized as relics in the city by the end of October 2022, including two works recognized as special national relics.

They are Independence Palace in District 1, which marks the complete victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country, liberate the South and reunify the country; and Cu Chi Tunnels in Cu Chi district, which is a unique military art wonder of Vietnam and marks the unyielding and indomitable will of the people in the "land of steel", one of the symbols of revolutionary heroism.

In addition to the two special national relics, HCMC also has 56 works and sites recognized as national relics, including two archaeological works of Giong Ca Vo in Can Gio district and Hung Loi ancient pottery kiln in District 8. These are the places where archaeologists have discovered traces of the city’s history through the remains.

In addition, there are 30 artistic architectural relics that have famous architectural and construction imprints, such as the headquarters of the HCMC People's Committee, the HCMC Museum of History and City Theater and 24 historical relics

In addition to the national historical relics, the City Department of Culture and Sports also announced 119 city-level relics./.
