Update: 25/11/2022
The Vietnamese Embassy in India and Vietravel Holdings company held a seminar on November 23 to explore the possibility of tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Tran Doan The Duy, vice general director of Vietravel, addresses the event.

The seminar titled "Vietnam - A splendid destination” largely focused on introducing attractive destinations, traditional dishes, and the friendliness of Vietnamese people to Indian travelers.

Addressing the event, Tran Doan The Duy, vice general director of Vietravel, noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has heavily impacted the tourism industry across the world, including Vietnam.

In order for the industry to recover, he noted that a number of promotional and marketing programmes introducing Vietnam to international travelers have been implemented by Vietravel and various Vietnamese diplomatic missions.

Participants at the event agreed that India represents one of the country’s most prominent tourism markets.

Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai stressed that Indian tourists keen to visit Vietnam will have the chance to learn about the thousand-year-old cultural link between the two countries, especially the Cham culture.

He also revealed that Indian tourists can easily travel to Vietnam through direct flights lasting less than five hours.

Statistics compiled by Google Trends indicates that the number of searches about the country from the Indian market has been increasing this year.

By the end of the year there will be 21 direct air routes with over 60 flights per week connecting Vietnam with India.
