(TITC) - On 14th February, the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam coordinated with the French School of the Far East (École française d'Extrême-Orient) (EFEO) to organise the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition "Temple of Literature in the recognition of Ha Noi's heritage in the period 1898-1954".

This is an event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Vietnam and France (1973 - 2023).
During the period 1898-1954, the Special National Relic Site - Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam and EFEO had a close connection in the protection and regular renovation of the relic site, restoration of worship function and maintain the important role of this site for the landscape of Ha Noi.

Through EFEO's collection of Vietnam photos, the exhibition recounts the journey of the people involved in the preservation of the Temple of Literature. Thanks to these people, this legacy was able to revive better and more dignifiedly.
The exhibition helps to raise awareness of the public about the works done at the Temple of Literature during this period, the works of researchers at that time, and also provide visitors with a fresh view of today's research.
It is also about the portraits of those people who have always had a passion for heritage, have contributed to the preservation of the relic site - determination and restless efforts to cope with the drastic activity of time on the heritage.

Mr. Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports said, with the aim to bring the Special National Relic Site - Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam into the centre of cultural, educational, scientific and creative activities of Ha Noi, in recent years, the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam has implemented many display and exhibition activities in order to promote the value of the relic, well meet the sightseeing, research and study needs of domestic and international visitors. This exhibition plays as a storyteller to show the fascinating story of the revival of the relic; at the same time, highlighting the will, affection and responsibility of those involved in this work, helping the legacy to revive and last as vigour as it is today.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Nicolas Fiévé, Director of EFEO emphasised, the Exhibition shows the architectural development of the Temple of Literature, the life inside; as well as the work of restoring and embellishing the heritage for many years, with the hard work and dedication of those involved in this work. With precious materials, the Exhibition allows us to step back in time and admire the old-self relic.
The exhibition will be held at the front of Thai Hoc House, the special National Relic Site - Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Ha Noi until 30th April 2023.
