A famtrip team comprising of 20 Indian travel firms and media agencies conducted a trip to the coastal city of Da Nang, Hoi An Ancient Town, and Hue city from March 14 to March 17 in order to survey popular tourist attractions in these localities.

The purpose of the trip is to elevate the nation as an attractive destination for Indian tourists and offer an opportunity for travel partners in the South Asian country to experience and evaluate the general quality of Vietnamese tourism services.

The delegation visited a number of famous tourist attractions in Da Nang, Hoi An, and Hue, including Marble Mountains, Hoi An ancient town, Ba Na Hills, a complex of Hue monuments, and Thien Mu pagoda, as well as surveying the quality of hotels and restaurants, especially eateries for Indian visitors.

In a working session held alongside local authorities of Thua Thien Hue province, Indian travel partners suggested that additional restaurants serving Indian food be set up, as well as the opening of direct flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Hue.

Nguyen Van Phuc, director of the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism, said that the Indian delegation highlighted tourism services, accommodation locations, and other destinations in the locality, adding that the local tourism industry is in the process of exerting efforts to recommend Indian delegations to stay at least one night in Hue.

Phuc added that Indian visitors are particularly interested in festive activities, culture, vegetarian cuisine, and health care, noting that the locality has provided sufficient information, images, and videos showcasing Thua Thien Hue to help the delegation gain greater insight into the locality.

In a meeting held with representatives of Da Nang city, Salman Moideen, a representative of Flyland Travel & Tour in Mumbai, said he was greatly impressed by Ba Na Hills, as well as the Golden Bridge, adding that the company will launch additional tour packages to Da Nang, especially Ba Na Hills, in the future.

Nguyen Thi Viet Anh, operations director of PYS Travel Company, one of the organisers of the farm trip, stated that based on the positive results of the delegation, the company expects to welcome more Indian tourists, up 160% compared to figures from 2019.
