Phu Yen Culture and Tourism Week: A grand opportunity to promote the recovery of Phu Yen Tourism

(TITC) - On 1st April, in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee organised the Opening Ceremony of Phu Yen Culture and Tourism Week 2023 with the theme “Phu Yen - Attractive and friendly destination”. Mr. Nguyen Le Phuc, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) attended and spoke at the event.

This is an event to celebrate the 412th anniversary of the establishment and development of Phu Yen (1611 - 2023), the 48th anniversary of Phu Yen Liberation Day (1st April 1975 - 1st April 2023); It is also the event introduces the province's unique culture, promotes tourism potential, attracts investment, contributes to restoring and stimulating tourism development as well as kicking off the Phu Yen tourism season in 2023.

At the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Dao My - Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee said, Phu Yen is a land with a rich history and cultural depth. The province preserves many precious tangible and intangible cultural heritages of ethnic communities. The unique feature of Phu Yen culture is the interweaving and interference of many cultural values. The beautiful natural scenery, rich and unique cultural heritage treasures and the gentle, sincere, and hospitable human nature of Phu Yen are great values and potentials for Phu Yen to develop tourism as a spearhead economic sector of the province.

In recent years, Phu Yen tourism has prospered and developed gradually. With increasingly rich and quality tourism products, Phu Yen is expected to  build the brand "Phu Yen - An attractive and friendly destination".

VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc addressed at the ceremony, Phu Yen is a province with majestic natural beauty, a rich history, unique culture and friendly and hospitable people. With landscapes such as Ganh Da Dia (Da Dia Reef), O Loan lagoon, Xuan Dai Bay, Mon Beach, Mui Dien (Dien Cape) and many others, Phu Yen province is not only an attractive destination for domestic visitors but also attracts a huge amount of attention from international friends. Phu Yen Culture and Tourism Week in 2023 is a significant event, this is an opportunity to introduce the province's unique culture, promote tourism images to contribute to the recovery and stimulate tourism development, kicking off the Phu Yen tourism season in 2023.

Tourism is one of the potential economic sectors and makes great contributions to the country's economic development. In recent years, the Vietnam tourism industry has been well recognised worldwide. Phu Yen Culture and Tourism Week 2023 shows the effort of Phu Yen in developing, investing and promoting its image, raising the value of Phu Yen tourism, from building infrastructure, improving service quality to training high-quality human resources, and meeting the increasing demands of domestic and foreign visitors.

VNAT’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Le Phuc further appealed to the whole industry to come together, to raise awareness about conservation and promotion of cultural values, environmental protection and cooperation in sustainable tourism development.

Phu Yen Culture and Tourism Week 2023 takes place in 7 days (From 1st to 7th April 2023) in Tuy Hoa City and a number of localities in the province.

The main activities taking place during Phu Yen Culture-Tourism Week 2023 include: festivals of bands and musical groups inside and outside the province; food and specialty fairs in Phu Yen region; introduce songs about Tuy Hoa; introduce delicious Tuy Hoa dishes; performing the art of Bai Choi;…
