During the week, visitors will have the chance to enjoy many programmes and festivals, imbued with typical cultural identities of Dong Hoi City, such as a street carnival, a traditional dragon boat racing festival on Nhat Le river, Bai choi singing (a popular folklore style of singing in the central and south-central regions of Vietnam) festival and a photo exhibition entitled “Dong Hoi in the past and today”.
Notably, a rural market and a festival honouring local cuisine will be held from April 26 to May 1, at Bao Ninh Sea Square, featuring 20 pavilions introducing the specialities of Dong Hoi City in particular and Quang Binh Province in general.
The highlight of this year’s event will be an art space at Ho Chi Minh Square, to celebrate the 48th anniversary of southern liberation and national reunification (April 30) and the 137th anniversary of International Labour Day (May 1).
Locals and visitors can also join folk games and other cultural and art activities during the week.
The 2023 Dong Hoi Cultural and Tourism Week will be a great opportunity to introduce the traditional culture, potential and strengths of the city, to both domestic and international friends.
