More than 400 orchid species in many unique sizes and colours were on display at the Da Nang Orchid Festival 2023 which took place at the Dien Hai Citadel last weekend.
The Da Nang Orchid Festival 2023 attracted the participation of orchid clubs from 20 provinces and cities across the country such as Da Nang, Ha Noi, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh.
Co-organised by the Museum of Da Nang and the Da Nang Orchid Club, the 2-day festival featured more than 400 works of orchid of all types and sizes with many unique colours. They were provided by artisans from orchid clubs and associations in provinces and cities across the country, including Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, and Central Highlands provinces.
According to the festival’s organisers, the movement of planting and caring for orchids is developing quite strongly. Many orchid lovers have been owning many beautiful and rare orchid species that are nurtured and preserved in gardens in the city.
The festival aimed to create a useful playground for orchid growers to develop an economic model from orchids, and connect orchid enthusiasts to Da Nang, thereby luring more tourists to the city.
