On August 15, at the mausoleum of Emperor Gia Long, the People's Committee of Hue City in collaboration with Hue Monuments Conservation Center held the inauguration of waiting lounges for visitors and water supply stations at three locations, which are the mausoleum of Emperor Gia Long, the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang, and the mausoleum of Emperor Dong Khanh.
These waiting lounges and water supply stations are under the project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam”, which is sponsored by the World-Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) - Norway (through the WWF - Vietnam).

Thanks to the launching of the direct drinking water stations, when visitors visit the mausoleums of Emperor Gia Long, Emperor Minh Mang, and Emperor Dong Khanh, they are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to refill with water or drink water directly from the faucet.
Accordingly, the water purifier products achieve the quality management system ISO 9001: 2015, certified in accordance with the standard TCVN 11978: 2017 to ensure the safety and hygiene quality, with a set of five filter elements, including the RO 500G filter element, which can remove over 90% of amoeba bacteria, arsenic bacteria, heavy metals, as well as other viruses and bacteria, and other impurities so as to ensure the purity of the drinking water.
The operation of water supply stations will contribute to reducing the amount of plastic waste in Hue City by encouraging visitors to bring their own water bottles and personal items instead of using and purchasing single-use plastic.

Previously, on December 26, 2022, at the mausoleum of Emperor Gia Long, the first waiting lounge for visitors and smart water supply machine had been built and put into use.
The project "Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam" has sponsored a total of four waiting lounges for visitors and water supply stations located at the mausoleum areas, and is expected to deploy some more at other tourism destinations in Hue City.
This activity aims to propagate the implementation of the Code of Conduct to reduce plastics, which has been being deployed to the locals and visitors by the People's Committee of Hue City in collaboration with Hue Monuments Conservation Center.
