Phu Yen: Tourism in mountain areas lure visitors

During the National Independence Day, September 2nd, besides the province’s popular scenic spots and landscapes, the Red Tree Gardens in Van Hoa plateau and some mountainous farms became attractive destinations for tourists to experience.

One of the most attractive destinations during this occasion is Van Hoa plateau, including the communes of Son Long, Son Dinh, Son Xuan (Son Hoa district) and a part of Tuy An district. The bazal region was formed by the volcanic eruptions with the average altitude of 400m against the sea level, creating the sub- region with mild climate.

With the favorable weather conditions all year round and the system of diversified historical relies, there have been gardens, resorts, vegetable farms, industrial trees serving production and tourism as well. Here, the focal point is Son Xuan commune, with strange – looking and fruitful red trees. The eye – catching feature of the red tree gardens, densely packed with fruit from the barks to the branches do excite tourists. In combination with sight- seeing, check- in, the garden owners also introduce red fruit wine, particular and simple rural meals of the mountains with milpa cooked rice, chicken stewed with pineapple fish sauce, chilli salt, “giề” flower soup with stream fish… . Ms. Kim Lien, a tourist from HCM city, shared, “I’ve heard a lot about the beauty of red fruit gardens, however, I’m still amazed at the attractiveness of the cool and peaceful ambience”. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi, owner of Bon Binh red tree garden, let known, “The weather condition this year has been favorable, the red trees are fruitful, ripen fruits do excite visitors on the recent National Independence day, a large number of tourists flocked to the garden, at certain points of time, there was even traffic Jam”.

Along the Van Hoa plateau has formed and developed lots of destinations, namely Son Xuan commune Red Tree Garden; the revolutionary base of Phu Yen province in the anti–American resistance. Uncle Ho’s worshipping House (Son Dinh commune) and Thi Thung mound Tunnel (An Xuan commune, Tuy An district) – the 2 national level relies are the striking features of the tourism route, Song Hinh mountainous district is the tourism spot Jrai Tang (Ea Trol commune, Song Hinh district). Coming here, tourists experience the intact nature, swim in the stream, admire wild flowers, enjoy the leaf wine made by the ethnic compatriots, or enjoy other spcialities like chicken, beef, stream fish, processed in a particular manner by the mountainous compatriots.

According to Mr Ho Van Tien, Chairman of Phu Yen tourism association, the destinations in the mountainous districts of Phu Yen province bear in themselves the intact beauty of the mountain and the forest, similar to a shy girl welcoming the newcomers. Not only that, this region still preserves its own particular cuisine features, the dishes which are processed by the skilful local inhabitants are the unforgettable cuisine.

Also during the last National Independence Day, the hotels organized buffet with seafood, oceanic tuna at affordable prices. Even the demand of vegetarian dishes by tourists were also attentively served. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut Dieu, in charge of business of Pytopia Conference center,  shared, “The recent National Independence Day was in July, lunar calendar, quite a lot of tourists ordered vegetarian food, and we had vegetarian buffet, which was supported by most tourists.”

The two tourists, named Linh Chi and Nguyen Thao from Ha Noi, shared,“What a pity that the time we stayed in Phu Yen was short, only 3 days. While there are so many landscapes to be visited, we have only checked in few spots. We would love to experience more. The three impressions for us once visiting Phu Yen, the land with yellow flowers on green grass, are the atmosphere, cuisine and the local inhabitants”.
