Every day in the morning and late afternoon, ethnic boys and girls come to swim in the reservoir of Da Riam Stream in Lam Dong Province or sit by the banks to enjoy fresh air and breezes.
Few tourists have known about the 400-hectare reservoir, built in Bao Thuan Commune to water coffee and tea trees on hills and in valleys as well as agricultural farms in other parts of Di Linh District of the Central Highlands province.
Official K’Broi of the Di Linh People’s Committee told the Daily that the local government was seeking investors to develop tourism projects to make the most of the reservoir. Despite the absence of tour operators and tourism services there, you can hire a boat to travel around to admire the beauty of the flooded valley of the Da Riam Stream and its vicinity at not more than VND 50,000 per person.
The attractions you can see are old trees of different shapes, plants in blossoms on hills, flocks of storks skimming over the green paddy fields and the reservoir to look for food, and ethnic people working in hilly farms. On top of that, you can enjoy an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity when touring one and a half hours around the reservoir.
You can travel by high-standard coach from Ho Chi Minh City through more than 200 kilometres to the town of Di Linh and then further over five kilometres to Da Riam reservoir.
