Improving destination administration in the province of An Giang

The provincial People's Committee issued a document on December 6 pertaining to enhancing destination management in the province of An Giang.

As a result, the provincial People's Committee delegated to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism the responsibility of ensuring that local tourism service providers, management boards of tourist zones, and tourist spots adhere strictly to the provisions of the tourism law and other pertinent legislation; proactively inspect and upgrade service processes and facilities, ensuring tourist services' safety, security, and quality; Strict adherence to fire prevention and fighting regulations is imperative for tourism business establishments to maintain food safety and hygiene; Ensure the preservation of the tourism environment by adhering to regulations regarding collecting and treating garbage and waste; Comply rigorously with regulations governing the listing of public prices and sales at listed prices.

Concurrently, it bolsters oversight, inspection, detection in a timely manner, and disciplinary measures against entities and individuals that contravene tourism legislation and fail to adhere to service quality and business conditions standards. Ensure oversight of the quality of tourism-related provisions in the region, focusing on accommodations, tour guides, and services provided in tourist zones and attractions. Advocate for the dissemination of refined tourism conduct at various destinations.

Security and safety, fire prevention, food hygiene, and the protection of tourist zones and attractions shall be the responsibility of the provincial police. Facilitate access to tourist areas and attractions by establishing a systematic framework for the review, traffic flow, and direction to mitigate the occurrence of accidents and congestion. Assemble, identify, avert, and resolutely address incidents that endanger tourists, with a particular focus on those who are transported via automobiles and inland waterway vessels. Evaluate, issue advisories for, and implement strategies to safeguard visitors in tourist areas and points of interest.

The Department of Information and Communications advocates for the tourism industry's implementation of digital transformation and information technology. Assist the Trade and Investment Promotion Center and the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to establish productive, secure, amicable, and environmentally conscious tourism development strategies. 

The Trade and Investment Promotion Center shall promote and advertise destinations, coordinate events to entice domestic and international tourists, and foster partnerships between local businesses and tourism product development organizations. Ensure that tourist support centers and hotlines function efficiently, deliver information in a timely manner, and address concerns of tourists visiting the region.

As per the contents of this correspondence, provincial departments, branches, and departments shall proactively undertake the aforementioned responsibilities and seek resolutions in accordance with their designated functions and obligations. If concerns arise that exceed their prescribed jurisdiction, they shall expeditiously notify the People's Committee of the province.
