(TITC) - On 16th March 2024, Ban Flower Festival associated with the Opening Ceremony of the Visit Vietnam Year - Dien Bien 2024 will officially kick off.

The event will take place from 13th to 18th March 2024 with many unique and attractive contents. A number of main contents within the framework of the Festival are: Incense offering ceremony at the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield; Opening ceremony of Visit Vietnam Year - Dien Bien 2024 with a special art programme and high-altitude fireworks display; Photo contest "Sparkling Ban Flower region", traditional costumes of ethnic groups, Xoe Thai - Khen Mong Festival with the participation of artists and artisans from provinces in the Northwest region, competition compete in national sports; display and introduce typical cultural and tourism products of Hoa Ban land, organise activities connecting tours and tourist routes…
Coming to the Festival, visitors will be immersed in the highland cultural space, imbued with the traditional culture of local ethnic groups, such as: Upland market space with typical and unique agricultural products of districts, cities and towns in the province; experience traditional cuisine; participate in folk and traditional games of ethnic groups such as: seesaw, toss con, swing, to ma le, throw pao...; Enjoy and learn about folk songs, folk dances, traditional folk music, Then and Xoe arts of the Thai, Tay, Mong, Ha Nhi, Kho Mu, Xi La, Lao, Xa Phang ethnic groups…
The festival is a major event to promote tourist destinations in Vietnam in general and Dien Bien Province in particular, attract international tourists and promote domestic tourism; contributing to building Dien Bien province into an attractive tourist destination of the Northern midlands and mountainous regions by 2025. This is also a practical event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 115th anniversary of the founding of Dien Bien Province, and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Party Committee of Dien Bien Province. With rich and diverse sports and culture activities, containing the national cultural identity and historical characteristics of the heroic and sacred land of Dien Bien Phu, the festival promises to bring visitors a colourful cultural space, bearing the mark of ethnic minorities in Dien Bien Province.
Ban Flower Festival is a typical, annual event of Dien Bien Province, first held in 2014, on the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. Held in Dien Bien Phu City in mid-March every year, the Festival aims to preserve and promote the unique cultural values of ethnic minorities in Dien Bien Province… This is also an opportunity to honour Hoa Ban - the flower that symbolises the land and people of Dien Bien Province in particular and the Northwest region in general; at the same time, it will contribute to building and successfully promoting the Dien Bien tourism brand in the coming time.
