Cam Ranh and Da Nang in finalist of excellence in airport and destination marketing in Asia

(TITC) - The Routes Asia 2024 Awards posted the finalist of 05 "Airports with capacity to serve 5-20 million passengers", including Cam Ranh and Da Nang International Airports of Vietnam.

Accordingly, the Awards this year recognises the incredible work carried out by airlines, airports and destinations in 2022 and 2023, and their ongoing strategy for 2024.

With excellent airport and destination marketing activities, as well as recognise the airlines that are driving the region's air service growth, The Routes Asia 2024 Awards revealed the finalist of 15 airports splitting in three categories (under 5 million passengers, 5-20 million passengers, and over 20 million passengers), 4 destinations and 5 airlines.

Among them, the top 5 airports with a capacity to serve 5 - 20 million passengers a year are named two airports of Vietnam which are Cam Ranh International Airport (Khanh Hoa Province) and Da Nang International Airport. The others are Adelaide Airport (Australia), Mactan Cebu Airport (Philippines) and Perth Airport (Australia).

Cam Ranh International Airport welcomed more than 34,000 flights and 5.7 million passengers in 2023. This statistic includes significant growth in the Korean market and expansion into new markets such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The airport aims to reach 8 million passengers per year by the first quarter of 2026.

Meanwhile, Da Nang International Airport enjoyed strong recovery in 2023, serving more than 13 million passengers. Traffic is expected to increase by 9% by 2024. An important milestone was achieved by this airport earlier this year when the international terminal was certified as a 5-star terminal by Skytrax.

Da Nang Tourism Department also named in the Destination finalist.
