As the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) holiday is approaching, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC is gearing up for a surge in passenger traffic.
Lasting five days from April 27 to May 1, the national holiday is expected to see an upsurge of travelers, with the airport anticipating around 125,000 passengers per day from April 26 to May 1.
Passenger traffic will shoot up during this time, with a total of 4,280 flights scheduled from April 26 to May 1 at the airport, averaging 720 flights per day.
Among these flights, 1,602 are international and 2,678 are domestic. On the busiest days, April 26 and May 1, the airport plans to accommodate 740 flights.
As the largest airport in southern Vietnam, Tan Son Nhat is preparing to serve a total of 686,700 passengers during the vacation.
Stringent security measures remain in place to ensure flight safety, with additional personnel deployed, including members of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Youth Union and the Vietnam Aviation Academy Youth Union.
