This summer, the railway sector plans to add more trains operating on the North - South route, and have many policies to reduce ticket prices in order to meet growing demand in peak summer travel season.

According to the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR), starting from May 15, the railway sectors will regularly operate many pairs of trains on the North - South route to serve passengers in the summer.
Among them, there will be six pairs of Thong Nhat trains, called SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, SE9/SE10, SE11/SE12, connecting Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Also, a pair of trains NA1/NA2 will run between Ha Noi and Vinh. Accordingly, train NA1 will depart at the Ha Noi Railway Station at 9:50 pm and arrive at Vinh at 5:50 am on the following day. Meanwhile, train NA2 will leave from Vinh at 10:15pm and arrive in Ha Noi at 5:20 am.
The Ha Noi - Dong Hoi route will add a pair of trains QB1/QB2. Train QB1 will start at the Ha Noi Railway Station at 8:05 pm, and come at the Dong Hoi Railway Station at 6:30 am. Train QB2 will leave Dong Hoi at 3:20 pm and arrive in Ha Noi at 3:55 am. In addition, the QB4 train will run from Dong Hoi to Ha Noi
The Ha Noi - Da Nang route will have more two pairs of trains SE17/SE18 and SE19/SE20. Trains SE17 and SE19 will depart from Ha Noi at 8:25 pm and 7:40 pm, and will arrive in Da Nang 2:35 pm and 11:58 am respectively.
Trains SE18 and SE 20 will set off at the Dong Hoi Railway Station at 7:25 pm and 6:05pm, and get in Ha Noi at 2:20pm and 11:40 am respectively.
In addition to adding more trains during the summer, from May 17 - August 18, 2024, the railway sector will apply many ticket price reduction policies.
In particular, passengers who buy individual tickets for pairs of trains SE1/SE2, SE5/SE6, SE9/SE10 and SE11/SE12 will get 5% discount on ticket price as buying train tickets 20-39 days ahead of departure date, and 10% discount on ticket price as buying train tickets 40 days or more in advance. However, this policy does not apply to four-sleeper cabins on SE1/SE2 trains.
The railway sector also announces ticket prices for two pairs of Hue - Da Nang tourist trains HD1/HD2 and HD3/HD4 to be applied from May 15.
Accordingly, the ticket price is set at VND 180,000/turn for Da Nang - Hue tourist train operating from Mondays to Fridays, and at VND210,000/ turn on Saturdays and Sundays.
