Xin Man, a district in the northwest of Ha Giang Province, is endowed by nature with rich natural resources and picturesque panoramas. The local historical sites and ethnic people’s unique culture are a big draw for a lot of people coming to Xin Man.

Xin Man District covers an area of 60,000 hectares and has a population of 71,000 people from 16 ethnic groups. It also has 30 kilometers of border with China. The Xin Man National Border Gate connects with the Dulong Border Gate of China. The district has sought to promote its advantages for developing tourism.
Pham Duy Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Xin Man Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the district People’s Committee, said: “We have developed specific tourism products for each locality to fully tap the cultural beauty of our ethnic groups, such as unique festivals of the Nung and Mong. We also use agriculture to attract tourists. We have built agricultural production zones where the people grow plants and tourists can experience our unique style of farm work."
"Currently, a number of orchards, livestock farms, and fish ponds are open to tourists. The district’s top priority is to develop transportation infrastructure and form cultural tourism villages. We also connect Ha Giang with China as well as the domestic market,” said Mr. Hien.
Xin Man has five national relics - Nam Dan ancient stone field, Tien waterfall, Gio pass, Luong waterfall, and Tran waterfall.
Dubbed the “Swiss Meadow” in Ha Giang Province, Suoi Thau meadow in Coc Pai Town, sits at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level. Covering hundreds of hectares, Suoi Thau is one of the most beautiful meadows in Vietnam.
Close to romantic Nam Ly stream is the Nam Choong mineral spring tourist site in Quang Nguyen Commune. Other landmarks of Xin Man are Thien Thuy cave, Coc Pai night market, and Nan Ma historical site.
Tran Thi Thanh Huong, a tourist from Ha Noi, shared: “I like this place very much. The people are friendly and the scenery is as beautiful as a painting. Flowers blossom everywhere.”

Xin Man is also known as the most beautiful buckwheat flower setting in Ha Giang Province. Brilliant rosy buckwheat flower fields attract a large number of tourists every autumn. Cultural tourism villages, such as Na Rang and Quang Ha, are successful community tourism models.
Coming here, visitors can discover the unique cultural characteristics of the Mong, such as the Gau Tao Festival, the coin stick dance, the paper horse dance, the Mong panpipe dance, flute performances, and folk songs. Local specialties which have been certified as “One Commune, One Product” brands are Quang Nguyen sticky rice, Gia Dui rice, Che La tea, and Ban Ve tea.
Coc Pai town is the cultural convergence in Xin Man District. Coc Pai night market entertains tourists with numerous cultural activities by ethnic groups.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of Coc Pai Town People’s Committee, said: “An increasing number of tourists are coming here. Coc Pai Town has encouraged local people to grow flowers to beautify the surroundings and to organize activities to serve tourists. So, we have combined growing trees and tourism services.”
The locality has invested in upgrading its infrastructure and accommodations to serve tourists. Xin Man District has 2 hotels, 8 motels, and about 20 homestays.
Hoang Duc Tho, the owner of a homestay, said: “In the past we used to do farm work. When the State developed community tourism, I opened a homestay. Here, no business brings better income than tourism.”
Xin Man is an attractive destination of scenic landscapes, diverse culture, and revolutionary historical sites.
