Xi Thoai brocade in the heart of Ha Noi Capital

Update: 28/05/2024
In the middle of the ancient space of Ha Noi Old Quarter (28 Hang Buom), brocade textile products of Chăm and Ba Na people in Xi Thoai village (Xuan Lanh commune, Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province) are introduced to tourists in Ha Noi capital and overseas.

The female artisans of Xi Thoai village show looms, take care of each weaving tip, and produce colorful brocades and vivid patterns. Visitors can observe and experience the various steps and techniques used to create a gorgeous brocade product. They expressed interest in handmade products.

Raw materials for weaving brocade are fibers from flax, cotton, and thorns. Brocade is coarse and thick, but it feels cool to wear. Brocades of people with colorful colors and many patterns show their own cultural identity. Patterns are symbolic, symmetrical shapes according to the concepts of the universe, heaven and earth, yin and yang, taking nature as a model or showing activities in the daily life of the community.

This is one of the programs implemented by Dai Huu Travel Company Limited, connecting Dong Xuan district (Phu Yen), Hoan Kiem Lake Management Board, and Ha Noi Old Quarter to introduce and promote traditional craft village products to domestic and international tourists and friends. This is also a way to preserve and promote the value of traditional craftsmanship and the beauty of local culture.
