The opening of the Quang Nam Marathon 2024 officially took place in the March 24 Square (Tam Ky City) on June 1st.
The distance of 1.2km for children started on the afternoon of June 1st.
Runners competed in five distances, including 42km, 21km, 10km, 5km and 1.2km (for children).
Notably, the Quang Nam Marathon 2024 brought together outstanding faces of the Vietnamese long-distance running community, such as Vietnam Marathon record holder Hoang Nguyen Thanh, Le Thi Tuyet - a Vietnamese track- and-field athlete, Pham Thi Hue - a champion of the 30th SEA Games, Vu Dinh Duan - Vnexpress Marathon & Aquaman champion, and Le Thi Hang - 365 full Marathon.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, Tao Viet Hai, said the Quang Nam Marathon 2024 was an attractive sporting event, an opportunity to explore and enjoy friendly roads, cultural beauty, historical traditions, and the rich hospitality of the land of Quang Nam.
Awarding prizes to male athletes
It was believed that the Quang Nam Marathon 2024 not only brought dramatic and emotional moments but also left in everyone's hearts beautiful memories of Quang Nam, a place with two UNESCO’s world cultural heritages, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, and a unique Bai Say - Dam River ecosystem.
First place runner Hanh Nguyen shared her joy with her family.
