VNAT to introduce Vietnam tourism in France, Italy and Germany

Update: 25/06/2024
(TITC) - On 24th June to 2nd July, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) will organise Roadshows in Paris (France), Milan (Italy) and Frankfurt (Germany).

The Vietnam delegation will be led by Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, VNAT’s Chairman, along with representatives of a number of units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, artists of the Vietnam National Theater, Dance and Music Group; and representatives of tourism, hotel and airline businesses.

This is an excellent opportunity for VNAT and Vietnamese tourism businesses to promote tourism policies, destinations, and products aimed for the European market. The programme is also an opportunity for tourism businesses to connect and establish business cooperation, attracting French, German, Italian tourists in particular and European tourists in general to travel to Vietnam and vice versa.

Besides the roadshows in France, Germany and Italy, bilateral meeting activities between national tourism agencies, B2B connections between Vietnamese businesses and European partners; performance programmes promoting Vietnamese traditional culture and arts to the European public will be held.

Europe is a key market for Vietnamese tourism, tourists often choose long vacations and high spending. In 2023, Vietnam welcomed over 1.4 million visitor arrivals, an increase of 187% compared to 2022. In the first five months of 2024, there have been over 975 thousand European visitor arrivals to Vietnam, an increase of 57.1% over the same period in 2023.

Every year, Vietnam tourism always prioritises tourism promotion in the European market. Most recently in November 2023, in Paris, France, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam organised a seminar "Vietnam Tourism: Potential and Opportunities" to enhance promotion of Vietnam tourism to the French and European markets.

Currently, France, Germany, and Italy are among the countries that enjoy a unilateral visa exemption policy to enter Vietnam with stay duration of up to 45 days. The policy has been officially applied from 15th August 2023 with the expectation of creating a breakthrough in attracting international tourists to Vietnam.
