A panoramic view of Lang Co townlet
Below is a 48-hour journey suggested for tourists to Lang Co. This journey is suitable for tourists traveling to Da Nang by air since Lang Co is some 25km from Da Nang Airport, and for those who drive their own cars throughout Vietnam and stop midway. Lang Co townlet is over 60km from Hue city as well.
First day
On the first day, tourists should visit Bach Ma National Park, more than 20km from the center of Lang Co townlet, which has Bach Ma peak being 1,450m above sea level. In half a day, tourists should drive car to Bach Ma peak, visit Vong Hai Dai - an ideal place to have a panoramic view of the national park, and then trek to the Five Lakes and Do Quyen waterfall.
A view of Bach Ma Peak
Visitors will feel the weather change as they climb higher. The temperature drops rapidly; the air is cool, pure and pleasant. With more time, tourists can spend 2-3 days trekking there, stay overnight in an old French villa on the way to Bach Ma peak or go camping in the national park.
After that they should check in resorts in Lang Co. There are many beautiful beaches in Lang Co Bay, of which Canh Duong, Lang Co and Binh An are top three. Resorts with reasonable prices include Lang Co Bay Retreat, Lang Co Beach Resort, and Thanh Tam Seaside Resort, charging VND 1.5 million a room. Luxury resorts, such as Vedana Lagoon Wellness Resort & Spa, Angsana Lang Co Beach Resort and Banyan Tree Lang Co have prices ranging from VND 3 to 10 million per night.
Canh Duong Beach
In the evening, tourists can have dinner at restaurants in resorts or those on Canh Duong Beach, some 7km from National Highway 1A, near Angsana and Banyan Tree resorts. Popular seafood restaurants in Canh Duong Beach offer many kinds of dishes. Tourists can go camping right on the beach while enjoying on-site catering services.
Second day
In the second day, tourists should go jogging, cycling and doing yoga along beaches or just simply watch sunrise while savoring coffee.
Walking on the path in Lap An Lagoon in early morning
Another ideal choice is visiting Lap An Lagoon, also known as An Cu Lagoon, at the foot of Phu Gia Pass and near National Highway 1A. This used to be a favorite fishing place of Kings Khai Dinh and Bao Dai in summer. The lagoon is suitable for sightseeing, fishing, and checking-in. It is advisable for tourists to visit the lagoon in early morning to see a path in the middle of the lagoon. The path appears when the water recedes. Near the lagoon there is a small fishing village with restaurants offering Lang Co specialties. Tourists should try Vietnamese thick noodle soup with crab cakes and blood clam salad.
Also on this day, tourists should not miss exploring Hai Van Pass. This picturesque pass is some 20km long. On Hai Van Pass, tourists can view the panorama of Lang Co townlet in the North and Da Nang city in the South. In the middle of the pass stands Hai Van Gate that separates Da Nang city and Thua Thien Hue province.
Alternative option
Tourists can explore Cau Hai Lagoon, view sunset at Tam Giang Lagoon, visit Hai Van Bac Station, Don Ca Arch Bridge at the foot of Hai Van Pass.
