The People's Committee of Dien Bien Province has issued a decision to recognise Tham Quai Cave in Chieng Sinh Commune, Tuan Giao District and Chua Po Cave in Lao Xa Phinh Commune, Tua Chua District as provincial heritage sites.

Tham Quai Cave consists of five caves located at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. These caves were formed millions of years ago due to the earth's geological processes, including karst dissolution (a characteristic weathering process where limestone is eroded by water). The caves exhibit a wide variety of natural features.
Similarly, Chua Po Cave was also formed millions of years ago due to geological processes and karst dissolution. The cave is situated at an altitude of 1,550 metres above sea level and has two entrances facing the northeast. The first entrance is 0.8 metres wide and 2 metres high, while the second entrance is 1.5 metres wide and 0.8 metres high. The cave is V-shaped and extends to a total depth of 240 metres, divided into two chambers.

Currently, Dien Bien Province has 35 recognised heritage sites, including one special national heritage site, 14 national heritage sites and 20 provincial heritage sites.
The recognition of Tham Quai and Chua Po Caves as provincial heritage sites contributes to the sustainable preservation and promotion of their historical and cultural value, making them attractive tourist destinations.
